Background

Raja Ran Mahesh, who played a pivotal role in the Sikh Anglo War of 1846, was sentenced to jail by Kala Pani. Due to this, his wife handed over his property to the elders of the Ayali family. The elders of the Ayali family took one-fourth of the land and distributed the rest of the land to the people and laid the foundation of the village Ayali.

Politics

Politics was inherited by Manpreet Singh, his father Sardar Gurcharanjit Singh was the Sarpanch of the village from 1982 to 1997 and also served as the President of the Cooperative Society in his village. Manpreet Singh Ayali also started his political journey after becoming the President of the Cooperative Society, after which he was elected as the Sarpanch of the village. Later on, he was elected as a member of the Zila Parishad. In 2008, Manpreet Singh Ayali became the youngest Zila Parishad, Chairman. After that, he was elected MLA from Halka Dakha on Shiromani Akali Dal ticket in 2012. He also contested from Lok Sabha constituency Ludhiana in 2014 on behalf of the party. He also served as a member of the Punjab Pollution Control Board, State Health Planning Monitoring Committee.
Manpreet Singh Ayali was elected MLA for the second time after defeating Sandeep Singh Sandhu, OSD of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh in the by-elections held in 2019 due to the resignation of Harwinder Singh Phoolka.
In Shiromani Akali Dal, he started his journey as a worker. With his commitment to the party, he went on to become the General Secretary of Youth Akali Dal. After that, the party gave him the responsibility of Senior Vice President of Youth Akali Dal. He also served as the Coordinator of Youth Akali Dal, Ludhiana. After that, he became the General Secretary in Shiromani Akali Dal.

Since childhood, Manpreet Ayali has taken a keen interest in farming and till now is actively engaged in farming

Notable Achievements

During his tenure, Manpreet Singh Ayali not only secured huge grants from the State Government and Central Government for the development of the Constituency but also did his best to take the constituency to new heights by taking grants from the World Bank. Manpreet Singh Ayali is also credited with making necessary amendments in the rules to remove the legal hurdles in the way of getting the funds to be spent for the development of the villages from the schemes.

Efforts to preserve the environment and water

Punjab has always been known to be the Land of Five Rivers. In view of the deepening waters and polluting environment of Punjab, Manpreet Singh Ayali has rehabilitated ponds in villages and installed water treatment plants. He also campaigned for the installation of the RO system, provision of 100% clean water in rural areas, planting and conservation of trees.
The project of water treatment plants for cleaning the ponds was also adopted by the governments of other states of India.

Special interest in caring for the youth

Manpreet Singh Ayali has initiated and completed the project of building 70 Hi-Tech Sports parks in villages of his constituency Dakha. He wants the youth of his constituency to focus on sports and raise awareness about good health. This will also create new employment opportunities for the youth in the field of sports.

Anti-Corruption Campaign

A helpline number has been started by Manpreet Singh Ayali to curb the harassment of the people of the constituency in government institutions and looting of their hard-earned money.

On April 24, 2013, Manpreet Singh Ayali was honored with the Best Zila Parishad National Award by Union Minister of India Jai ​​Ram Ramesh during the tenure of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his outstanding achievements during the tenure of the Zila Parishad Chairman.
